From Student to Specialist
Sena Doyran, Junior Materials and Transport Manager, Germany
For Sena Doyran, her journey with BENTEC began while she was still a student.
During her Business Administration studies, she first encountered the company at a university job fair. The people she met made a lasting impression.
“The team I spoke to put me at ease and were genuinely interested in the people they met at the fair,” she recalls. “That positive experience encouraged me to apply for an internship.”
Sena joined BENTEC for a three-month internship, gaining her first insight into industry operations. Later, she returned to write her Bachelor’s thesis, focusing on improving logistics processes in the small parts warehouse.
“To complete my calculations, I needed input from different teams, so I worked closely with colleagues from across the company,” she explains.
“My supervisor and mentor supported me every step of the way and my team helped to review my work before submitting my final paper.”
Graduating from university was a particularly meaningful moment.
“I’m the first academic in my family,” she says. “That makes the achievement very special for all of us.”
Shortly after completing her degree, Sena joined BENTEC in a full-time role in late 2024, turning a student opportunity into the start of her professional career.
From graduate to global logistics
Sena now works as a Junior Material and Transport Manager in Germany, helping coordinate shipments and materials for customers around the world.
Her role involves planning deliveries, preparing export documentation and working closely with the warehouse team to ensure materials are ready on time.
“My responsibility is to coordinate materials and transport so everything arrives where and when it should,” she explains. “My focus is always on meeting customer requirements and delivering the best possible service.”
Her role requires careful planning and constant coordination across teams.
“What I enjoy most is working with international customers and organising shipments around the world,” she says. “It’s very rewarding when deliveries reach the right place, at the right time and in perfect condition.”
A successful day, she says, often comes down to solving problems and keeping operations running smoothly.
“We often have busy days with urgent shipments and lots of activity. Finishing the day knowing everything worked out as planned is very satisfying.”
“Young professionals bring new perspectives, digital skills and a willingness to learn, while experienced colleagues share the knowledge that helps us grow.”

A complex and meaningful industry
During her first year at BENTEC, Sena has developed a deeper understanding of the complexity behind the systems that support energy operations.
“I’ve seen how technically demanding the equipment and systems are,” she says. “That motivates me because I know the work we do supports reliable energy operations.”
The experience has also given her a strong appreciation for the role engineering and technology play in everyday life.
“Engineering and technology are essential for safe, efficient and reliable energy supply. They help the industry become more dependable and sustainable.”
Like many young professionals entering the sector, she also sees the growing importance of digitalisation and sustainability in shaping the future of the industry.
But just as important as technology, she believes, are the people behind it.
Investing in the next generation
Like many areas of the energy and engineering sector, logistics and operations remain largely male-dominated and is made up of long-tenure experienced personnel. In Sena’s direct working environment, she is currently one of the youngest female team members.
“At the beginning it took some time to find my place and build confidence,” she explains. “But looking back, my experience helped me grow a lot, both professionally and personally.”
“Support from colleagues and mentors played an important role in that journey. Through teamwork, knowledge sharing and encouragement from experienced colleagues, I’ve been able to develop the skills and confidence I needed to succeed in a highly technical environment,” she says.
For BENTEC, investing time in mentorship, internships and development is not just about individual careers, it is about building the diverse talent needed to support the future of the energy industry.
“Even the most advanced technology still requires skilled and motivated people to operate and improve it,” Sena says. “Investing in young and eager talent ensures technology can be used effectively and companies can continue to innovate.”
“Young professionals bring new perspectives, digital skills and a willingness to learn, while experienced colleagues share the knowledge that helps us grow.”
For Sena, her goal is simple.
“It’s about doing my best today and making sure the work I do contributes to something meaningful tomorrow.”
